How Can I Help?

I am now getting adjusted to chemo days, side effect days, and how this path is feeling so far. I just had Infusion No. 5 of 16 this last Tuesday, June 30th. As the schedule will show, I will be halfway through this set of infusions by the end of July! Wow! I know that Tuesdays are long days with infusions and couldn't do it with the rides down and back home! I am post infusion wired on Wednesdays with some insomnia, get some errands and work done Wed and half of Thurs, but mid-way through Thursdays I have to turn off the laptop, words and making sense can't be trusted...I'm off to see Oz as I really begin to fade into the fatigue and woozies through mid-Sunday.

Two weeks of those in a row, and then I get a week off, and the cycle goes again.

Treatment Schedule & Calendar

The first line of treatment chemo and immune-therapy details are on a different page, here is what infusions and less ideal days might be expected. Some sail through chemo with normalcy, and some really struggle with the possible anemia, fatigue and nausea on Days 3, 4, 5 after the infusion noted as the three day sets here. I hope to live and work as normally as possible, but could use your help and companionship an afternoon or evening along the way! We will still have fun on my good days!

Physical Support

Cholangiocarcinoma treatment can be physically impactful and demanding. I may experience severe fatigue, anemia and a drop in immune function.

Help with Daily Tasks

Offer to help with everyday chores such as cooking, light cleaning, or grocery shopping . I won't need this assistance if I am feeling good, but will need help with the most simple things on my tough days.

Accompany To Infusion Appointments or Hard Days that Follow

Going to medical infusion days will be long, in a chair for 6-7 hours. I have had the good fortune of getting separate rides down, versus a ride back home. Accompaniment at home when there are days I can't do much for myself as the fatigue gets overwhelming.

Staying Active

Encouraging nutritious meals and gentle exercise with a light walk, if appropriate. Cooking or having healthy meals together could also be really nice

Playing a game, crafting a puzzle, or watching a movie together.
