Almost Half Way
Has it been a month since my last update?! I am going to add some fun and humor here, answer some questions everyone is maybe too polite to ask, and provide an update of how this is really going so far. Am I going to lose my hair?! Definitely some, but not likely all with a 30% chance of it becoming noticeable. Check in late October, right in time for Halloween and don’t assume it’s a costume in case it turns…em’ interesting? I’m only washing my hair every few days, I am n

My Recent SF Surgeons Visit, Outlook, and Latest Infusion - The IIIrd
San Francisco hospital where I met my surgeon My brother and I went to San Francisco together for the surgeons consult. The appointment was on a Monday, and we left the house mid-day, and got there well in time to find parking, get a coffee and head upstairs to the appointment. The facility was dedicated to Liver Transplant surgery and specialty, so there wasn't many people there, but a very nice facility. I am so glad Chris went along, as what I am including here is a lot o

Reflecting on Insights from My First and Second Treatments
Just 9 days in to starting treatment, its not even been 30 days since discovering the news. After completing my first infusion and receiving my second yesterday, here's my experience to help understand how things are as they are happening. My beautiful peonies gift from Lexi with the onsite lunch she brought! I mixed them in with my roses and they are perfect! How I Felt After the First Treatment After that first infusion, and the drunken toddler woozy feeling as I left the

My First Infusion, May 19th
It was like the first day of school. Anticipation, trepidation, the new experience, how would I feel, and would this day be the first introduction to being a cancer patient. Ew. I haven't felt that way so far, and have been anticipating a pile of rocks to make a strong, emotional impact, and it just hasn't. I am just going to go with that feeling as long as possible. I will be taking my sword into this fight with as much might, strength and resilience as one can possess!

What's the Stage and Prognosis?
Oncologist I just met my Oncologist for the first time just this week. I selected a cancer center closer to home and not in the Bay area. It just would be too hard to manage the treatment schedule and the long drive to the Bay area. I am impressed and relieved by the Oncologist which is the oncology director of two regional hospitals. I liked his positive attitude, expertise and willingness to get molecular testing done, and also willingness to collaborate with any of the

How Can I Help?
Updated the schedule page on Sunday 7/5/2026 I am now getting adjusted to chemo days, side effect days, and how this path is feeling so far. I just had Infusion No. 5 of 16 this last Tuesday, June 30th. As the schedule will show, I will be halfway through this set of infusions by the end of July! Wow! I know that Tuesdays are long days with infusions and couldn't do it with the rides down and back home! I am post infusion wired on Wednesdays with some insomnia, get some er

How Did This All Start?
The symptoms were not clear; blood tests were normal on nearly every scale. Why was I feeling the way I was feeling? Here is the tale... At First. Last Summer. Last summer, I was with family and friends, and I just hadn't been feeling fantastic. Mostly fatigue, when I wanted to feel energetic, outgoing, more positive, and had goals of more exercise and activity. Rather, insert more afternoon naps, fatigue that kept me more often from the hikes and engagement with friends a
